SafeLives is the data controller for the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulations 2016/679 and the Data Protection Act 2018.

This Privacy Policy explains how we will process any personal data that we collect from you, or that you provide to us via the Site. When we refer to “personal data” in this Policy it means any information that relates to you from which you can be identified either directly or indirectly.   • to selected third parties who act on our behalf to support our operations, for example our IT suppliers (who provide us with IT support), Your Membership (our Community platform), HowtoMoodle (our Learner management platform), Wufoo (for event and course applications), Mailchimp (email marketing), Reading Room (our digital agency), SugarCRM (CRM supplier), MSOffice (for inbound email queries) and Snap Surveys (for any surveys).
  • to law enforcement or regulatory agencies if we are under a legal or regulatory obligation to do so;
  • to an acquirer if we, or substantially all of our assets, are acquired; and
  • to other companies and organisations for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of SafeLives, our Site users, suppliers, contractors or others.

7. Where we store your personal data
The Site is hosted by Amazon Web Services, which is based in Ireland. However, the personal data that we collect from you may be processed by staff operating outside the European Economic Area (“EEA”) who work for us or for one of our suppliers. Certain countries outside the EEA do not provide the same legal standards for protection of your personal data that you have in the United Kingdom or the EEA. By submitting your personal data, you agree to the transfer and processing of your personal data outside the EEA for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy.

8. Security
The personal data that you provide to us is stored on secure servers. Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password or log-in which enables you to access certain restricted parts of our Site, you are responsible for doing everything you reasonably can to keep these details secret.
